This commitment of losing weight is not an easy one especially when you go out to eat at a restaurant or favorite diner. Many restaurants provide meals that sound like a good healthy choice, but they might not be. Recently, I was reading a web-report on fall comfort food offered at different restaurants and how many calories and saturated fat each one contains. It is incredible how something can sound so good and be bad at the same time. For example, a 6-ounce Golden Corral breast and wing combo with skin has 310 calories, 15 g of fat (5 g saturated fat). Did I say that this is Rotisserie Chicken? Yes, not fried but roasted chicken, you would think this is a healthier option. The skin and the dark meat make this dish a fatty one. Another meal that judging by the name is a healthy one is the IHOP Chicken and Spinach Salad. It is salad after all, but this one packs 1,600 calories and 32 grams of saturated fat.
What could you learn from this? If you are serious about losing weight, you need to be more careful and look at the calories and especially at the amount of saturated fats each meal carries.
